150 Reasons to Rejoice!
Psalm 122:7 Reason #112C to Rejoice!
The Tower of David (the Citadel) is a symbol of Jerusalem’s enduring strength, a monument to the remarkable lineage that has made this city so revered.
The name "Tower of David" was first used for the Herodian tower in the 5th century AD by the Byzantine Christians, who believed the site was King David’s palace. They borrowed the name "Tower of David" from Solomon’s Song of Songs, "Thy neck is like the Tower of David built with turrets, whereon there hang a thousand shields, all the armor of the mighty men" (Song of Songs 4:4)
Absolute peace and security will only reign within the walls of Jerusalem when the King of Kings reigns upon His throne. Until then we need to pray, believing that day will come soon. What a day of rejoicing that will be!
