Berg Productions has filmed a new series that takes a look at the Persian Empire during the time of Queen Esther. The Zola Levitt Presents series will be televised this summer.
King Xerxes chose Esther for her beauty as Queen of his vast Persian Empire. God chose Esther for her beautiful spirit as Queen in a time of great danger.
The danger developed from one of King Xerxes' closest councils - Haman. His counsel was for the King to execute a decree to annihilate the entire Jewish population in the empire. King Xerxes sent out the decree not knowing it was really because of the hatred Haman had for Mordecai, a Jew, who would not bow down to him.
But Mordecai held a hope in his heart for the redemption of the Jewish people - it was a secret waiting to be revealed - that Queen Esther was his cousin - and now was the time.
He encouraged her to face the king about her identity to reverse the ordered decree of slaughter.
What would be her lot and that of her people? Would King Xerxes show her favor - or would he be her executioner? Not knowing if she would live or die she fasted for 3 days and then approached the King.
It is a story from history to modernity "for such a time as this".
