With the help of long term friends and associates of Berg Productions in Israel, a fishing village was recreated at the Sea of Galilee, known to Israelis as Lake Kinneret, for the Zola Levitt Presents production of "Sar Shalom - Prince of Peace" with Dr. Jeffrey Seif.
An authentic-looking reed boat was built and actually on the water for the scenes of Jesus on the Galilee.
Keeping mindful of the budget, a dolly was creatively assembled that's called a "doorway dolly". It is simply roller skates on a board connected to two pipes. Before that they had tried using a wheel chair.
It all came together for a most pleasant dramatization of Jesus' ministry in 1st century Galilee.
Producer Ken Berg wanted this presentation to be "very close to what it would have looked like and sounded like when Jesus was actually there" and also felt that in "showing the Jewishness of Jesus" it would be important to have an Israeli for the role.
After a search they found actor Shahar Sorek who gave a very meaningful portrayal of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
During production, Shahar shared some great insights. He reflected about the Sermon on the Mount saying, "A lot of the Christians deal with the crucifixion but yet the sermon for me when I read the work and I read the Word...the sermon is is the heart of the Word. The sermon has all the truth that one needs to follow the path."
